Music Tuition
Oakley CE Junior School is able to offer music lessons via Hampshire Music Service. Tuition is given by professional peripatetic teachers to pupils at Oakley CE Junior School for the following instruments:
- Keyboard
- Guitar
- Clarinet
- Flute
- Violin
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Cello
- Recorder **
It is also important to point out that this is a financial commitment for the whole school year and full payment will be required even if your child withdraws from lessons.
The lessons take place during the school day and this does mean that your child may miss part of a curriculum subject.
Instruments and sheet music are to be provided by parents unless agreed otherwise with the school. If you have indicated that you wish to borrow an instrument it is now possible to hire instruments from Hampshire Music Service at a cost from £30 per term. Sessions are charged at the following rates (these are reviewed by the FGB each year)

Group lesson – £255.00
** Recorder lessons are charged at £79.50
Although there are 38 potential teaching weeks, it is inevitable that some lessons will be missed. Therefore the charge is based on thirty-three lessons in total over the school year. Invoices are sent out for music lessons each term.
